The Knox Room

Named in honor of Ziba Knox, the second proprietor of the residence and a magistrate hailing from Vermont, this room pays tribute to his notable contributions. Among his endeavors was assisting in obtaining patents for the ingenious inventions of local luminary Walter Hunt, including the sewing machine, safety pin, original car horn concept, and lubricated flax ropes for nearby flax mills.

A portrait of Knox graces the eastern wall of The Gentlemen's Sitting Room.
